 The EVOLIS electronic sign includes a radar that detects the speed of passing vehicles and then displays it. It also records vehicle speeds for statistical processing by the relevant authority or research center (with provided software). It is usually installed without the need for additional signage, as in addition to displaying speed, it can (after programming) show additional short variable messages (e.g., caution, danger) or display a symbol, such as a warning sign. These messages are configured by the operator for each situation, such as the vehicle's speed compared to the legal limits. It is typically programmed to display three different digit colors—green, orange, and red—depending on the vehicle's speed in the following cases: within limits, borderline, or excessive.

 • It records statistical data for both directions and can operate in a hidden mode, meaning it only records statistical information. The data collected in normal operation compared to hidden mode shows significant improvement in driver behavior regarding speed, making such a sign extremely useful in areas with a history of dangerous violations.

• It is easy to manage, and statistical data can be collected via USB connection or wirelessly through Bluetooth in Windows or Android environments. GPRS (mobile communication) can also be used for remote management and immediate notification in case of malfunction.

• It is powered either by a solar panel or mains electricity and always includes two batteries to ensure continuous operation even during a power outage.

• Extremely resistant to impacts and UV/weather conditions due to its material and construction (polycarbonate exterior).

• Exceptionally lightweight (10 kg), allowing easy installation without a specialized crew, practically by a single person.

The digits are formed by densely placed LED elements (dots).

  • The height of the digits showing speed is 34 cm, while additional messages have letters 16 cm high (one line) or 8 cm high (two lines), making them visible from a distance of 250 meters.
